Albert Dufur, OD
Dr. Dufur was born in Carson City from parents of Spanish Basque descent and was raised predominantly in Reno. After graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno with a B.S. in Biology, he received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pacific University College of Optometry in 1993. He is the past President for the Nevada Optometric Association (NOA) and was honored in 2001 with the “Optometrist of the Year” award. He is currently the Legislative Chairperson for the NOA.
Dr. Dufur has been practicing for nearly 15 years and has extensive experience with all types of contact lenses. He reads, writes, and speaks Spanish fluently. He is also very patient with children and performs one of the most thorough ocular examinations.
Dr. Dufur resides in Sparks with his wife, Tracy, and their sons, Jacob and Matthew. He is a member of the Reno Arch Lions Club and provides eye exams, locally, for the needy. In 2001, Dr. Dufur, two colleagues, and members of the Lions Club performed 500 vision screenings in two days in Obregon, Mexico.
In his spare time, Dr. Dufur enjoys water skiing, snow skiing, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, racquetball, and gardening/landscaping. His most favorite activity, however, is reading books to his sons.
Beyond his expertise, what sets Dr. Dufur apart is his caring style and demeanor. His patients say that's what keeps them coming back to him.

Anne, Operations Director
I was born in Vallejo, California and raised in Reno, Nevada. I have been with Dr. Dufur for 4 years and have been in the field of optometry for 9 years. As Dr. Dufur’s Operations Director, I am responsible for assisting our patients with frame selections, frame repairs, billing insurances and providing our patients with personalized care and attention.
I live in Reno, Nevada with my husband and two children. In my spare time I enjoy kickboxing, bowling and spending time with my family. I have my Certified Paraoptometric certification. My next goal is to obtain my American Board of Opticianry certification. I hope to be able to help you with your vision needs when you visit our office.

Krystal, Technician
I was born in Reno, Nevada and raised in Sacramento, California. I am new to the Optometry profession. I worked 6 months in an Ophthalmology practice and on January of 2008, I became a team member at Dr. Dufur’s office.
My duties are to help Dr. Dufur with all of his pre-testing. I do visual field testing, tonometry, auto refractions, optomaps, retinal photos, case history, visual acuities and I manage the contact lens department.
I had a Medical Assistance certificate and I am pursuing a Paraoptometric Certification, a Certified Paraoptometric Certificate and one day hope to have a National Contact Lens Examiner Certification.
I have a beautiful 2 year old girl and a wonderful boyfriend. In my spare time I enjoy camping, barbeques and spending time with my family. I hope to have the opportunity to help you with your vision needs.

Yocelin, Receptionist
I was born in Mexico, raised in Truckee, California. On October of 2007, I became a team member at Dr. Dufur’s office. As a receptionist, I’m in charge of the front office management. My duties are: greeting patients, answering the phones, preparing charts, filing and scheduling.
I am pursuing Paraoptometric and the American Board of Opticianry Certificate.
I moved to Reno, Nevada in February 2007 and no live here with my daughter. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, playing volleyball and spending time with my family. I look forward to helping you with your vision needs.
